Water ingress through windows, glazing and curtain walling
Water ingress means unwanted water entering the building. The damp patch indoors may be some distance from the external defect: water can track through joints, cavities and adjoining construction before it becomes visible.
Our investigations consider perimeter and movement joints, glazing gaskets and beads, cladding interfaces, drainage and weep holes, cavity trays, damp-proof courses, copings, flashings and membrane laps. The relevant checks depend on the building and the evidence found on site.
Controlled testing, targeted repairs, recorded results
We test defined areas with a controlled low-pressure hose, working from lower zones upwards while an operative observes inside. The results help connect an external test area to the internal water path. After an agreed repair and any required curing time, we re-test and record the findings.
Can a water test always reproduce the leak?
No. Some leaks depend on wind direction, rainfall or more than one defect. If the leak cannot be reproduced during the visit, further monitoring or another test may be needed. A dry test result relates to the areas and conditions tested.
